A textile and dyeing manufacturer based in Thailand approached Yixing Cleanwater Chemicals Co., Ltd. seeking an effective solution to a persistent problem: intensely colored wastewater that failed local discharge standards and drove up treatment costs. After sampling and laboratory testing, the customer selected the CW-08 Water Decoloring Agent, supplied in 1,250 kg IBC tanks, and achieved outstanding results — including a color removal rate above 95% together with a significant reduction in COD and BOD.
Dye wastewater is notoriously difficult to treat because reactive and disperse dyes are highly soluble and carry strong negative charges, allowing them to resist conventional coagulation. The Thai mill faced:
The facility needed a cationic agent capable of neutralizing the anionic dye molecules and accelerating floc formation, without polluting the effluent.
| Item | CW-08 |
|---|---|
| Appearance | Colorless or light-color liquid |
| Dynamic viscosity (cps, 20°C) | 10–500 |
| pH (30% water solution) | 2.5–5.0 |
| Solid content % | ≥ 50 |
CW-08 is a dicyandiamide–formaldehyde resin. By releasing a large number of cations, it neutralizes the negative charge carried by dye molecules, destabilizing them so that they can no longer remain dissolved. At the same time, the agent hydrolyzes into extensive flocs that adsorb the destabilized dye and entrap it within a separable network. The result is a clear separation of color from water — an efficient decolorization process rather than simple dilution.
| Metric | Before | After CW-08 |
|---|---|---|
| Color removal rate | Baseline | > 95% |
| Sedimentation speed | Slow, incomplete flocs | Faster, denser flocs |
| COD / BOD | High residual load | Substantially reduced |
| Effluent clarity | Strongly colored | Clear, near-colorless |
Beyond color removal, the mill reported faster sedimentation and better flocculation, which improved throughput of the clarification stage. Because CW-08 is non-polluting, non-flammable, and non-explosive, the change also simplified handling and storage compliance.
CW-08 is mainly used for wastewater treatment in the textile, printing, dyeing, paper-making, mining, and ink industries. It is especially suitable for decolorizing high-colority effluent and for treating wastewater that contains activated, acidic, and disperse dyestuffs. The product can also serve as a retention agent in paper and pulp production.
CW-08 is supplied in 30 kg, 250 kg, and 1,250 kg IBC tanks (other packaging available according to customer requirements). It should be stored out of direct sunlight at temperatures between −5°C and 30°C.
Located in Yixing, Jiangsu Province, China, and adjacent to Shanghai — the country's economic, financial, and trade center — the company enjoys convenient transport links to customers at home and abroad. Its decolorization and COD/BOD removal products are widely applied in textile, printing, dyeing, paper-making, mining, and ink wastewater treatment, while its flocculant agents are additionally used as retention aids in paper and pulp production.
Guided by the principle of "promptness, action, quality and credit," the company is committed to satisfying every kind of demand from domestic and foreign customers through high-quality products, reasonable pricing, prompt delivery, and comprehensive service.
By adopting CW-08 Water Decoloring Agent in IBC tank packaging, this Thailand customer solved a stubborn color-removal challenge, reduced COD and BOD loading, and lowered treatment cost — demonstrating how the right cationic decoloring chemistry can turn a difficult dye-wastewater problem into a reliable, compliant, and cost-efficient process.
