A textile dyeing mill in Vietnam was struggling with intensely colored effluent from its reactive dye process. Discharge limits were tightening and the plant's existing treatment line could not keep up. The mill selected our CW-08 Cationic Polymer Reactive Dye Wastewater Decoloring Agent — a specialized modified dicyandiamide formaldehyde resin engineered specifically for reactive dye wastewater treatment. It delivered an industry-leading 99% decolorization rate and 80% COD reduction, outperforming conventional decolorants for mills processing hydrophilic reactive, acid, and direct dyestuffs.
The client operates a mid-sized textile dyeing and finishing facility in Vietnam, processing large volumes of cotton and blended fabrics using hydrophilic reactive dyes. Their wastewater stream is highly colored, chemically stable, and difficult to treat because reactive dyes are designed to bond strongly with fibers — which also makes them resistant to conventional coagulation and biological treatment.
We supplied CW-08, a modified dicyandiamide formaldehyde resin cationic polymer purpose-built for reactive dye wastewater. Its cationic charge neutralizes the anionic dye molecules and forms dense, fast-settling flocs that are easily removed. The enhanced molecular structure specifically targets hydrophilic dye molecules, making it far more effective than generic decolorants on reactive, acid, and direct dyestuffs.
Key benefits delivered to the Vietnam mill:
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Appearance | Colorless to light yellow translucent liquid |
| Solid Content | ≥55% |
| pH (30% Solution) | 3.5 – 5.5 |
| Viscosity (25°C) | 100 – 600 mPa·s |
| Decolorization Rate | ≥99% for Reactive Dyes |
| COD Removal Rate | ≥80% |
| Applicable Dyestuffs | Reactive / Acid / Direct |
| Effective pH Range | 5 – 10 |
| Sludge Volume | ~30% less than conventional decolorants |
CW-08 is a cationic polymer. When dosed into dye wastewater, its positively charged groups neutralize the negatively charged dye molecules, destabilizing the colloid and causing the dye particles to aggregate into dense flocs. Because the polymer is engineered to target hydrophilic reactive dye molecules, the flocs form quickly and settle rapidly, allowing clean, low-color supernatant to be separated. This accelerates the entire treatment cycle, cuts chemical consumption, and reduces the volume of sludge that must be dewatered and disposed of.
This Vietnam project shows how a specialized CW-08 cationic polymer decoloring agent can solve the toughest reactive dye wastewater challenges — delivering 99% color removal, 80% COD reduction, and lower sludge volume in a single, easy-to-dose product. For textile mills processing reactive, acid, or direct dyestuffs, CW-08 is a dependable, cost-effective choice for meeting discharge standards and improving overall treatment efficiency.
